ive just recently started working out, i do 30 minutes on the tred climber then i go to the gym and work my legs, arms, and so on. ive been eating good and drinking alot of water, but the scales says ive gained 5 pounds(in one day)(weighed myself in the morning) Could this just be because im building muscle now? and if it is because im building muscle will i loose weight soon?

  1. A few pound fluctuation is normal from day to day, especially if you consume foods that are high in sodium, or as females around "that time of the month" because we retain so much water weight then.

it isn't muscle because it's not possible to be build muscle that fast and have it just suddenly show up. you ARE building a little of muscle though i'm sure :)

you should buy a tape measure. just get one of those flimsy ones that comes in like a sewing kit for $1...and use it to measure your waist/hips/wherever. it's alot better of a measure than a scale sometimes, because often you'll lose an inch or two but not see the scale move. anyway if you don't want to do that, just be patient and keep it up, the scale will move eventually
