The Australian – German pair of Jarmila Gajdosova and Julia Goerges maintained consistency in their co-ordination level to down the Austrian wild card enterers, Nikola Hofmanova and Melanie Klaffner in straight sets in their home
soil. They registered a 6-3, 6-3 victory over the local rivals to advance into the final of the NURNBERGER Gastein Ladies 2011, a WTA Premier International event held on the clay courts in Bad Gastein, Austria.
The winning combination of Gajdosova and Goerges displayed magnificent skills and co-ordinations to trash the Austrians in just under an hour and booked a final spot in this WTA event.
The Australian German express made derailed into the opening set as they lost first three games. However, they roared back by perfected their angled shots to reel off next six games in a row to clinch the opener with a 6-3 win
in almost half hour.
The duo clobbered a much better first serve share of 70 percent as compared to the Austrians’ 52 percent and earned a fabulous 69 percent win on it. They then put the cherry on the set by saving three out of four breakpoints conceded
and converting three out of four breakpoint opportunities to their advantage.
Gajdosova and Goerges kept momentum sailing into the final set as they held on to their opening serve convincingly. They found the desiderated break in the second game to extend their lead but it couldn’t last longer as the pair
lost their serve in the proceeding game. The Australian German tandem, however, kept their remaining serves and broke the wild card entrants’ serve again in the sixth game to seal the set with a 6-3 win again.
Regardless of producing a lower first serve share this time, they converted two out of three breakpoint chances to their advantage to help win comfortably. The beaming pair also earned a plausible 56 percent win on their first
serve share.
Gajdosova and Goerges will next face the winner of the match between Czechs, Eva Birnerova and Lucie Hradecka, and the Russian Ukrainian pair of Ksenia Pervak and Lesia Tsurenko.
