Question:

Galant vs Grand Prix.. help me decide!

I'm buying a new car and have narrowed it down to either a 00 Mitsubishi Galant ES 2.4L v4 sedan or a 00 Pontiac Grand Prix 3.8L v6 coupe. Both have ~90k miles and are $5500. I like the 3.8 in the Pontiac, but 4 doors and gas mileage sound good to me on the Mitsubishi. Maintaining the Galant may be more expensive if anything breaks, and the 3.8 is nearly unbreakable. What do you guys think?

  1. you've got it the other way around - the galant is easier to maintain. remember, the galant is japanese, and the japanese make the most reliable cars on the planet. pontiac, on the other hand, make some of the worst reliable cars. maintaining the pontiac will be a pain, plus the gas is worse. not to mention the deprecation - the pontiac depreciates way faster. you're way better off with the galant

  2. Lol you seriously cant deceided?????? Pontiac's are the worst cars known to man

  3. the GM 3.8 is one of the best V6 ever built they are tank motors i have had 3 and when i was yong i tested them very well i have seen a lot of problems with the gallant i worked a a dealership as a teck and the motors are no comparison to the 3.8 and parts are 3 times as expensive trust in what you know it sounds like to me you know the right call i am looking at a gxp grand prix my self for my wife the body style is getting a little old but its reliable and the prices are reasonable
