The Turkish Super Lig champions have beaten http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/PSV-c40281 Eindhoven, Fulham and Borussia Monchengladbach in the race to land the Moroccan forward’s signature.
Reports from Abe Lenstra Stadion confirm that Galatasaray have successfully reached an agreement with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Oussama-Assaidi-c28900.
The Turkish Super Lig champions and the Eredivisie outfit have long been locked in negotiations, but the deal failed to materialise over the transfer fee of the player.
However, it has now been confirmed that the 23-year-old forward will move to the Lions in a deal believed to be around four million Euros. The Moroccan attacker had already reached an agreement over personal terms, and has now
signed a five-year contract with the Turkish club.
Assaidi, who started his professional career at Omniworld in the 2006/07 season, arrived at Abe Lenstra Stadion in the summer of 2009 after making 17 Eredivisie appearances for De Graafschap.
The powerful forward failed to impress in his debut season at the Friesland outfit. However, the versatile attacker managed to make headlines consistently for all the good reasons in his next two seasons.
Netting nine goals while providing 11 assists in 31 league matches, the Moroccan international played an integral role in his side’s impressive performance in the 2010/11 season.
In the 2011/12 campaign, the technically gifted forward went one step further, scoring 10 goals while setting up seven more in 27 Eredivisie appearances to help his side finish at the fifth spot on the league table.
His impressive performances garnered him interest from several top flight clubs including PSV Eindhoven, Fulham and Borussia Monchengladbach. However, the left winger opted to pursue his career at Turk Telekom Arena.
Although, Galatasaray managed to lift their 18th league title at the end of the 2011/12 campaign, they struggled to attack from the left flank.
