  1. The color of different parts of the galaxy will tell us what kind of stars and dust it has there.  The inner parts tend to be redder, indicating old stars, while spiral arms often are bluer as new stars form there.  Inverting the colors just makes some stuff easier to see - the images come out white stars on a mostly black background, and some people prefer to try to find black stars on mostly white.  The filter we took the image in tells us the real color.

  2. May be trying to find some planets and the kind of stars the galaxy has..May be it becomes easy to study about the planets by inverting colors..

  3. Astronomy is an amazing thing to study.

To my knowledge, when astronomers study colors, they are really looking at the temperature at which the stars inside the galaxy are burning.  Also, by the color, they can tell what a galaxy is mainly comprised of.

The best thing to use for study of Astronomy is Google Earth.

Google Earth has a function called Google Sky, which is a constellation button on the toolbar.  Once you click Google Sky, it inverts Google Earth and points up at the stars.  This turns your computer into an observatory.  Google Sky even includes Hubble pictures and many lessons on the stars.

There is nearly an infinite source of information on Google Sky for the average astronomer.

    Good Luck
