I am currently 32 wks pregnant and for the last 3 months i have had upper abdomen pain on my right hand side under my rib.My health care experts just kept saying it was the baby squashing everything up inside me but the pain is excruciating at times, after having to moan about it all the time to my gp/midwife/consultant they are finally giving me a scan for gall stones, but what are the implications if any to my pregnancy.

  1. I cannot say for sure, but my best mate had this during her pregnancy whilst she was in a lot of pain, she gave birth to a healthy full term baby :)

  2. I am currently 37 weeks pregnant and have Gall Stones, my case is a little worse though I think, I was actually vomitting bile with a mixture of blood every morning for the past 6 months, I ended up being put on a pump that constantly pumps medicine into my system, before the pump I was unable to hold anything down including water, needless to say, it does not affect the baby at all, but they are inducing me early in order to do the surgery on my Gall Bladder, make sure they do a thorough ultrasound of the Gall Bladder, there are solutions to the pain and constant nausea! Good luck to yoU!

  3. None at all, I had gallstones during my pregnancy with twins. Doesnt effect baby at all, but means you wont be able to take stronger pain meds and theres nothing the doctors can do really until you give birth. Just try to avoid fatty foods as much as you can to keep the symptoms at bay.

    Good luck
