Tottenham Hotspur defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/William-Gallas-c36874 has urged the fans to be patient and calm despite the club’s disappointing start to the season.
The North London club are still without a win in the league, with only 2 points from 3 games. Spurs lost their Premier League opener to Newcastle at St. James’ Park in a 2-0 score line.
What was more disappointing was perhaps how the team managed to throw away their lead at home against West Brom and Norwich City, conceding a late goal in the dying minutes of their last two home games. The club has since come under fire, especially manager
Andre Villas-Boas.
The Portuguese tactician is still searching for his first competitive win with the club, and will be anxious to get the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 done sooner rather than later.
The club’s last outing saw them throw away a 1-0 lead at home to Norwich City in an overall dismal and far from convincing performance. The stalemate could’ve easily turned into a defeat for the club had it not been for an impressive http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brad-Friedel-c7953.
The game ended with the team being booed off the pitch by the fans. Despite signing a number of new and quality players, Tottenham have still not made an impact. The team travels to the Madejski Stadium today to face Reading, who are also without a win in
the league.
Defender William Gallas is aware of the team’s shortcomings, but is unconcerned with how they have started their season under Villas-Boas.
The player believes Tottenham will come good, and only need some time to settle in and gel together.
"We have only two points, but we don't have to be too much afraid because it's the beginning of the season, we have a new manager and a new style," Gallas said.
"We have to be very focused on what we have to do and we have to be focused for 90 minutes or maybe more.”
"All the players want to win, the fans want to see their team win so on Sunday we will try to get the three points. We have to be very strong against that team because they are good, they are strong and they are playing well."
