Tottenham Hotspur defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Emmanuel-Adebayor-c12526 following his sending off in the 5-2 derby defeat against Arsenal last Saturday.
The French defender believes that the Togolese’s absence may have a detrimental effect on the team in the coming games. Tottenham have now suffered 3 consecutive defeats in the Premier League, and have slipped down to the 8th spot on the league
table.
Adebayor had scored the opening goal in the derby and Tottenham looked comfortable and in cruise control up until he got sent off for a rash tackle on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Santi-Cazorla-c32505. The striker quickly went from hero to zero and had to watch from the sidelines as his side
found themselves on the receiving end of a 5-2 battering.
Tottenham struggled to cope with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429’s fluid midfield and had a night they will be looking to forget. Gallas and the other Tottenham defenders were stretched and made to work hard as Arsenal ran rampant.
William Gallas believes that the red card was the turning point of the game, and is worried about the loss of Adebayor in the upcoming games. Speaking to the press, he said:
“I think it will be a big loss for us because Adebayor has a lot of quality. He can keep the ball, he can score and we can play long or short.”
“From the pitch it, the red card was difficult for the players to accept. We spoke with the referee. We said to him ‘it’s not fair, but some people on the TV said he deserved the red card.”
“I think he was sorry, even if he didn’t say anything. We could see that on his face. Now we have to forget that game because it was painful.”
The player then went on to talk about the game, and insisted that Tottenham need to bounce back and quickly recover their form if they wish to qualify for the Champions League.
Manager Andre Villas-Boas has once again found himself under pressure after Tottenham slipped down the league table. Spurs take on West Ham United at White Hart Lane this weekend, and will be looking to avoid their fourth successive defeat in the Premier
League.
