Galtymoore Gerty heading for a hat trick in Bags/Sis 500 – Final on 2nd March at Hove
The Grade A9 Bags/Sis 500 – Final will be staged at Hove over 515 metres Flat on Friday, 2nd March. The race has the prize money of £500 which will be contested for by six hounds.
Galtymoore Gerty, Ballymac Ruso’s two-year-old brindle daughter out of b***h Knockura Way, has progressed through the season by ending sixth, fourth and fifth in the first three starts and then holding the reigns tight on being placed in her fourth and fifth
races of the season.
Galtymoore Gerty was second in the Grade A11 515 metres Flat race on 8th February at Hove. The 7/4 favourite winner, Swift Removal, clocked the distance in 31.21 seconds, leading by 1 ½ length and was soon followed by Galtymoore Gerty who took
31.33 seconds for racing through the wire.
Her next two tries culminated into victories.
She won a Grade A11 515 metres Flat race on 18th February at Hove. She was entered as an evening’s favourite and clocked the distance in 31.17 seconds and was in lead of 1 ¼ lengths.
Carkills Ace qualified as the runner up by covering the distance in 31.27 seconds while taking over the third position was Drop The Dog.
Galtymoore Gerty’s last race before today and victory was in the Grade A9 Bags/Sis 500 – Heat 3 on 24th February at Hove. She clocked the track distance in 30.95 seconds, leading by 2 ½ lengths. The 6/4 favourite runner up of the race Blakes Destiny
went through the track in 31.15 seconds and was soon followed by Millridge Zena.
Today Galtymoore Gerty is in for her eighth start of the season and if she gets across the wire before the rest then Galtymoore Gerty will be in for a hat trick for sure.
Orient Shift, Westmead Hawk’s three-year-old black son out of b***h Light Shift, has recently posted a pair of victories. This the three-year-old accomplished after staying winless in six starts of the 2012 season.
On 15th February, the 7/4 favourite of the race won a Grade A10 515 metres as Orient Shift went through the track distance in 30.89 seconds.
Then on 24th February, Orient Shift won the Grade A9 Bags/Sis 500 – Heat 1 by reaching the other end of the wire in 31.23 seconds.
He too has the chance of posting a hat trick today.
