The lack of runs at the top has been a major worry for the team, which further led to speculations of a rift between senior players and Dhoni during the Australian tour. Gambhir has averaged a mediocre 24.36 in Test cricket in his last 12 matches, while Sehwag’s batting average of 30.60 (11 Tests) is well below his career average, which stands at an impressive 50.64. "They are big players and it is important for them to score runs not only for the team but also for themselves otherwise there will be worrying signs," he added.
