Gambhir insists vice-captaincy would not affect his role in the team – Cricket News Update
India’s hard-hitting opening batsman, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/G-Gambhir-c1447, said on Saturday that his appointment as vice captain for next month’s World T20 Championship in Sri Lanka would not affect his performance, insisting that he was in the team not for the designation but
to score runs.
"Your responsibilities and commitment towards the team don't change with change in designation,” said Gambhir when reached for a comment after he was reinstated as India’s vice captain.
“I’m not in the team for my vice-captaincy. I’m in the team to score runs and win matches for my country,” the left-hander stressed.

"We’ll be playing Test cricket next but then we’ll be playing a couple of T20 Internationals…We’ll be playing a few more practice T20 games (in Sri Lanka)…that would serve as good enough preparation for the World Cup," said the Indian vice-captain.
The latest edition of the World T20 Championship will be held in Sri Lanka, between September 18 and October 7.
