  1. If you waste all your Christian money, how can you make and feed little bible-bashers of your own that will propagate the good word?

  2. I'm not sure if it does or doesn't prohibit gambling Bill. But I can tell you this. I use to be a black jack dealer in a Casino for five yrs. If people knew how bad the odds were stacked against them in a Casino. The would never step foot inside one... It's not even a matter of the bible . Which that should be your main reason. But a matter of common sense as well..

  3. Explicitly, no.  However, good management of money IS explicitly, so implicitly, gambling must be managed as a part of one's budget.  That is to say, one may spend one's entertainment budget on such a thing, however, one would be in error to use funds needed for charity or day-to-day living.

  4. no but it should be in moderation. Like a $1 lottery ticket wont hurt but why waste $$?

  5. Not totally sure on this one, but I think its implicitly prohibited because of the many times gambling has ruined lives.

Personally, I know at least 15 christian families that can't even stand to see playing cards... (IN SOMEONE ELSE'S HOUSE)

  6. Actually, the only case in the Bible that could be classed as gambling was when Roman soldiers cast lots to determine who would get Jesus’ inner garment.—Matt. 27:35; John 19:23.

Though the Bible does not discuss gambling in detail, it does provide us with principles that help in evaluating gambling. These make it clear that the Christian should be conscious of motive regarding gambling and of the effects gambling often produces.

It is widely acknowledged that gambling often leads to or incites greed. This is important to Christians, for the Bible strongly condemns “greediness.” God informs us that “greedy persons” will not inherit his kingdom, and that covetousness is to be classed with idolatry. Hence, sincere Christians want to avoid practices that might cause them to manifest greediness and thus to fall far short of the glory of God.—Col. 3:5; 1 Cor. 6:9, 10; Rom. 3:23.

Some gamblers even offer prayers to God, asking that he help them win their chosen game. Yet, the Bible contains God’s condemnation of those who claim to worship him but who are “setting in order a table for the god of Good Luck.” (Isaiah 65:11) Yes, God detests practices that promote a superstitious belief in luck. Gambling, by its very nature, encourages a blind trust in the so-called Lady Luck.

There is also the practice of gambling. Though popular among many, gambling is a form of greed, since it is an attempt to make money through the losses of others. Jehovah does not approve of those who are “greedy of dishonest gain.” (1 Timothy 3:8) If you wish to please Jehovah, then, you will refrain from any form of gambling, including lotteries, bingo, and betting on horse races. In turn, you may well find that you actually have more money on hand to meet the needs of your family.
