Game 5 Predictions?

Alright hockey fans, spill your thoughts here. Who's going to win game 5?

I'm a Wings fan, and I just don't think the Pens have it in them this year. And I emphasize this year. If they can keep most of their talent in town there, they have a VERY bright future, and that's good to see coming from the East. But, unfortunately for you Pittsburgh fans, the Wings are so machine-like in thier execution, I think it's curtains tonight. I can't focus at work right now I'm so jacked for the game, and my McCarty jersey is displayed proudly in my car right now just waiting for 5pm (and yes, I'm aware he probably won't be playing tonight if Homer gets the OK).

Prediction: 4-2 Wings with one being an empty netter. Zetterberg gets 2, Rafalski, and Hudler. Malkin gets one and Hossa the other.

  1. The Pens are gonna come out with a lot of energy and I think one of three things could happen.

    1.  They could score an early goal on a breakaway or by putting more pressure on Osgood then he has seen so far this series.

    2.  The wings could capitalize off of turnovers in the neutral zone and make the game a blowout.

    3.  The Wings hold the Pens scoreless for the first ten minutes and take control of the game when their energy starts to go away and win the game by something like 3-1 or 2-1.

I figure that the the second is going to happen.  Players on the Pens will be trying to do to much and give up one or two turnovers that the Wings will turn into goals.  Their defense will break down and the wings will coast through the final period.  Wings 5-2

  2. Don't have a score for you but I will say that the Red Wings will win.

  3. You really want to know what I think?

  4. wings 4-1

im no red wings fan (east coast boy actually) but the wings have been the heavyyyy favorites since preseason so when they win tonight, i wont be surprised

  5. I really don't think it will be close competition wise.  The score will depend on how Fleury will be able to handle the barrage he is about to face.  The Wings will dominate this game possession-wise.  They DESPERATELY want this Cup at home.  I see them being the more desperate team than the Pens.  They DO NOT want this thing going back to Pittsburgh.  The only three Pens that will be a factor in this game will be Fleury, Crosby, and Hossa.  They are the only ones who have shown up for the entire series.  One line going will not get it done against the Wings.  I don't want to sound cockey but I've seen nothing to convince me otherwise.  Detroit's top 4 D-men are just too good.

  6. Pens will win Force a Game 6 Wednesday in Detroit.

  7. i really want the penguins to win but idkk tho.

  8. HUGE!!! Pens fan.................

    4-3 Wings

    Datsyuk Zetterberg Cleary Maltby

    Malkin Kennedy Crosby

  9. 5-1 Wings

    Goals scored by:

(Wings) Cleary, Rafalski, Zetterberg, Helm, Maltby

    (Pens) Sykora

  10. The Wings have looked extremely strong, but i wouldnt put it past the pens to come out firing and physical, if nothing more, to end on a positive note and a well played game.  If the Wings are going to be able to match the Pens intensity it may very well be over tonight.  Although, after game 4, you could clearly see Pittsburgh had many solid chances to score and just couldnt finish.  If they finish their chances that they had in game 4, and Fluery stops the 2 easy goals he let in, then i give this one to the Pens.  If the Wings score first, i give the game and the Cup to the Wings.

  11. Red Wings win 4-1

    Goals scored:

    Pittsburgh: Hossa

Detroit: Zetterberg, Franzen, Helm, and Drake with an empty netter.

  12. Hopefully the Wings do as I'd hate to waste a "sick night" for nothing.

  13. A switch goes off in Malkins head at about 3:17 eastern time today wich leads to his 2 goal game tonight and when you add a goal by Gonchar and another from possibly Staal or maybe even big Jarko Rutuu steps up tonight to save the Pens series Crosby steps up big at home in game 6 and its back to Detroit for 7 Its in the bible look it up.

  14. Wings 4-3, double overtime.

  15. The Wings will take it. The bench is just too deep and the Pens top line is too tired. The Pens can't play all the way down the bench the way the Wings can.  The Pens are a young team, and if they keep the talent they have, they will definitely be a force to be reckoned with in a year or 2, but I just dont see it happening this year.
