Game Boy Color game working but not working

Question

Hello I own Resident Evil: Gaiden for Game boy color and what happens is the game works through up to a certain point. I am able to press start and watch the opening scene until you see Barry (One of the protagonists) boarding on the cruise ship then the game flickers then turns black.
