Mass Effect 3 was one of the most anticipated games of 2012, ever since it was officially unveiled and demoed at E3 last year. The sequence showed the game’s protagonist, Sam Shepard, battle a Reaper that was easily more than a hundred feet tall.
A constant flow of announcements, gameplay trailers, pre-order incentives and developer diaries left everyone wanting more. More importantly, however, they wanted to know how the Shepard’s trilogy would come to an end, as BioWare had earlier announced that
any new games in the series would have a new protagonist.

However, fans of the series did not like the abruptness of the ending and the ‘unfinished’ feel to it as the story never gave off the aura that all the loose ends had been tied up.
Casey Hudson, however, explained the studio’s viewpoint and how the ending works. He said, “I didn’t want the game to be forgettable, and even right down to the sort of polarizing reaction that the ends have had with people – debating what the endings mean
and what’s going to happen next, and what situation are the characters left in.”
From this one can conclude that the series is far from over, yet Hudson also wanted gamers to be able to discuss the endings and come up with their own interpretations. He said, “That to me is part of what’s exciting about this story. There has always been
a little bit of mystery there and a little bit of interpretation, and it’s a story that people can talk about after the fact.”
Mr. Hudson had plenty more to say, all of which can be found in the next part of the article.
