Casey Hudson continues his defence of the game’s endings and states that the feedback from fans will be crucial for future instalments of the series.
For those who did not read the first part of the story, here is a quick recap.
Fans of the Mass Effect series were left disappointed with the endings to the latest game in the series, Mass Effect 3. Casey Hudson, the creative director of the game, shared his opinion on why this was so, by explaining that they wanted leave room for
fans to debate and discuss them and leave them open to interpretation.
However, Hudson was quick to point out that they were not going to ignore the criticism they are receiving from the fans and that it would all be taken into consideration to ensure that the fans get what they want.
When asked about the feedback from fans and how BioWare would be taking it, Hudson responded, "Oh, we pay very close attention to it. It's very important to us and we will always listen to feedback, interpret it and try and do the right thing by our fans.”
He went on to give an example of how they did so for Mass Effect 2, “That's why if you look at Mass Effect 2 we knew that people wanted to spend more time with a character like Liara, and so we created an ongoing storyline with her as part of the comics
and then built it into the DLC stuff, and we're always listening to fans.”
At the same time, he assured fans that there would be plenty of content for the game in the pipeline for both multiplayer and single-player. He said, “We have some really great multiplayer content and some really great single-player content coming over the
air, and their feedback will become part of how we design that."
Whether or not that explanation will satisfy fans is another story altogether, yet at least the man has taken the time out to address some of the concerns of the fans and who knows, maybe all of this will result in a better Mass Effect 4.
