Albeit not the beans that matter but rather the development process Ubisoft adopted in coming up with and executing the concept for the latest game in the series.
Even before Assassin’s Creed: Revelations was released speculation was rife on the internet that Assassin’s Creed 3 would be set in a different era. The fact that Revelations saw the conclusion of Ezio Auditore de Firenze and Altair’s over arching storylines
only added fuel to the speculative fire.
Early on the ‘experts’ seem to be confident that the series would be heading to Egypt, however, as time wore on 18th Century America became the new popular choice amongst speculators.
Ubisoft also kept adding bits of wood to keep the fire burning by announcing that Assassin’s Creed 3 would be released by the end of the current year and also teasing that the game would be the biggest the series has seen so far.
More recently the publisher teased an announcement relating to the game in the near future, only to confirm that the ‘near future’ would be “Monday March 5th at 5pm.”
At the same time a number of screenshots and images of the game have been released or leaked and confirm that the game will take place during the American Revolution with an all new protagonist.
Game Informer claim to have the inside scoop of the game and wrote, “Ever since the conclusion of Assassin’s Creed II, a senior team of Ubisoft developers has been secretly toiling away on what comes next. That team aimed high, with plans to examine and
rethink every element of the franchise from the ground up, build something new, and take a full three year development cycle to do it.”
Apart from that the rest of the statement was an advertisement for the latest edition of their magazine where they state that they have the full lowdown on who the new hero in the series will be as well as “exclusive screens” and “art from the project.”
However, gamers need only wait three more days till Ubisoft make a public announcement of the game and tell everyone what they already know and hopefully, a bit that they don’t.
