Game board ideas for the series of unfortunate events?

OK, so i am doing a gameboard for language arts period.......i need some ideas on how to consrtuct the game, so that it wouldnt be boring, too easy, and that it is the best game the class has ever played! Thank You for the answers! ^_^

  1. Aren't there 13 books? I'd make sure to have 13 places on the board, which could be hard to arrange. Maybe you could add a space as a Start or Home to make it 14, or combine two to make it twelve.

    You'll also have to decide what genre of game you want, like trivia or strategy. You could always model it a bit on a popular game but change enough things to make it completely your own. Like in cooking, if you change 3 things about the recipe, it becomes yours.


  2. How about a Trivial Pursuit type of game, where there are categories and you develop questions for each category?  You could also incorporate some aspects of Pictionary where students have to draw the answer, and aspects of Taboo where they have to give definitions of words.  You could play in teams which is always more fun than individually.  Make the board itself simple so that it is easy to work around it - a board like the old Snakes and Ladders idea might work, or something similar.  Best of luck with it.
