Game on Dude ready for the $1million Pacific Classic with jockey Chantal Sutherland
The 4-year-old gelding, Game on Dude, has had a topsy turvy 2011 season with two wins at the beginning of the year. The Bob Baffert trained gelding’s graph has gone a little under after reasonably good performances in the next three races.
The son of Awesome Again out of Worldly Pleasure by Devil His Due is expected to do well in every race he participates in, and maybe that’s why three finishes on the cards would’ve been an awesome result for another gelding but not for Game on Dude.
When the expectations are higher the best seem to curb the tide, and the same is expected of the grade 1 winner in his next start, the Grade 1 $1million Pacific Classic at Del Mar on 28 August, 2011.
Game on Dude who won the Grade 1 Santa Anita Handicap on 5 Match, 2011, is the only entrant by Bob Baffert for the Pacific Classic, and turned in a mile on 18 August and he was clocked in 1 minute and 38 seconds in the preparations for the Del Mar feature.
Game on Dude turned in his workout sessions under jockey Martin Garcia and they both turned in a satisfactory work out session for the trainer, but Martin Garcia will not be accompanying Game on Dude in the Pacific Classic because the gelding is going to
Chantal Sutherland.
Chantal Sutherland has been aboard Game on Dude twice in his career, once in the Grade 1 Santa Anita Handicap, where the pair took on a distance of 1 ¼ miles on the Santa Anita racecourse on dirt.
On 5 March, Chantal Sutherland guided the colt skillfully to a massive Grade 1 victory in a race for 4-year-old males and above, defeating Setsuko and Quindici Man in the process, who finished second and third respectively.
Game on Dude clocked the distance in 1 minute and 59.47 seconds.
The jockey also rode the gelding in his last outing in the Grade 1 Hollywood Gold Cup, and where Game on Dude still valiant in defeat finished second.
