Game seven of the Eastern Conference Finals – weighing Tampa Bay Lightning against Boston Bruins (Part 1)
The series between Boston Bruins and Tampa Bay Lightning has been very entertaining so far. Now, it has reached its climax and the team that wins the seventh and final game of the series will move into the Stanley Cup Finals.
The two teams are almost equally capable of winning with Lightning scoring 21 goals in the series so far while Bruins has scored 20 goals. Moreover, both teams have one away win.
The goalkeepers, Tim Thomas and Dwayne Roloson, have come up with occasional mistakes but have also done quite well overall.
This balance has levelled the series at 3-3 and with the seventh game taking place on Friday, we still wait to see which teams grabs the second and final spot in the Stanley Cup Finals.
In this article, we will be mentioning the three lines of the two teams, coupled with other factors that may affect them. Ultimately, this will lead us to predict which team is stronger of the two, going into the seventh game.
Firstly, we will be comparing the forward line of the two teams.
Lightning is flooded with talent up front with skilful players in the team that have the capability of shinning even at a stage when you think they are down and out. Vincent Lecavalier, Martin St. Louis and Steven Stamkos are the three Lightning attacking
stars, considered as some of the best forwards in not only the team but also the National Hockey League.
There are also some other players like Sean Bergenheim, Teddy Purcell and Simon Gagne who have done pretty well in the play-offs. Lightning has the strength and talent in the frontline to go past any defence but now it is up to how they perform on the final
day.
There have been a couple of times in the play-offs already that Bruins has struggled. However, out of the six games in the series, there have been three occasions when Bruins has managed to score three or more goals.
There has been a great fall in the performance of their star player, Milan Lucic. Lucic was the top scorer of the team during the course of the regular season with 30 goals but he has scored only three goals in the postseason which has resulted in Bruins
struggling up front.
When it comes to predicting as to which team has an advantage with regard to offence, it is definitely Lightning that is stronger of the two teams.
