Game using one white ball and four red, and four black balls?

I have been to the beach and to the parks and seen people play this game. The first person throws a smaller white ball a few yards away from them. Then the same person throws a their color ball, either red or black, as close tot he white ball as they can get. It is then the next persons turn to get as close tot he white ball as possible. What is the name of this game and where could I buy it?

sounds like bocce ball to me!  Very fun social game great for anyone!
