I have an OFFICIAL 251 gamecube memory and the official 59 memory card. I ran out of space for the 59 block one. and im trying to copy all my game saves over to the 251 but it doesn't fit in the slot B on the wii. Why is that? Im beginning to think nintendo is a rip-off b/c you have to buy all this **** when you could save it to the hard drive. but no, they make you buy even more ****. even wavebird controllers are out of production and are in high demands.

sorry got a little off topic there.

  1. Maybe because gamecube cards aren't suppose to go into wiis lol.

  2. If it fits in slot A I have no idea why it wouldn't fit in slot B. The only reasons I can think of are that it wouldn't fit is that you are either putting it in backwards (unlikely, since I'm sure you'd try turning it around), or there is something in the slot jamming it. If it doesn't fit in either, you probably got a broken memory card or something, but that is even less likely.

My brothers have a bunch of third party cards and have no trouble with them, and my first party card (251) works fine in both slots.

Also, you didn't really ask about this, but the reason Gamecube games can't save to the flash memory is because of how they are programmed. They were designed to read from the cards, so the games basically "don't know how" to read from the hard drive.

As for Wavebirds, it was probably more cost effective for them to cut production of them in order to use the manufacturing plant for Wii peripherals or hardware. On the business end it was probably the more profitable move, but on the consumer end it wasn't a good idea.

Edit: Sounds like the B slot does have a problem. If it's not just something stuck down in it or something, you should probably contact Nintendo about it. Might not be worth it if the Wii is not under warranty anymore and you still have a Gamecube. If the Wii is under warranty, no reason not to go for it.
