Do you still find them fun to play? I love Scattegories and Monopoly and the hubby loves Yahtzee.

What would you recommend us to get, something NEW?

There is just so many out there, what is your fave?

Thanks!

  1. Dominos and texas holdem.

  2. You're right, there are *tons* of board games out there.  If you're looking for something a little different, and fun for adults, I recommend European-style games.  They're much more interesting, and can be played in about 60-90 minutes.

These are some I think you would enjoy:

    Carcassonne (a classic!)

    Settlers of Catan

Ticket to Ride & Ticket to Ride: Europe

San Juan (there's also the more involved Puerto Rico)

To Court the King (if your husband likes Yahtzee, I *definitely* recommend this one!)

Cleopatra & the Society of Architects

Shadows Over Camelot (better for larger groups)

    Through the Desert

    Yspahan

    Citadels

Betrayal at the House on the Hill (cute for parties, esp. around Halloween)

EDIT - I second Joe C's recs for Mr. Jack, 1960, & Pillars of the Earth.  The first two are great 2-person games; Pillars can be played with 2-4.  Good picks!

  3. Texas Roll'em™

You Gotta Know How to Roll'em

Bring your best poker face to the table for Texas Roll'em — the dice game of bidding and bluffing that'll have everyone hooting and hollering! Roll your 4 dice and keep them secret under the cup. Take a peek and see what you rolled and get ready to make a bid or call someone's bluff. Keep in mind that the community dice (Flop, Turn and River) will be added to the bid. Be the one with the most chips at the end of the game and you'll be the winner!

    Farkel & More™

Press your luck, but don't Farkel!

What, you haven't heard of Farkel, the fast-paced, fun dice game? Each player takes a turn rolling ten dice until they either Pass or Farkel, depending on what you roll. You can press your luck by rolling the remaining dice, or score your points earned. Then the next player rolls to add to your score or start new. We know you will also enjoy having MORE fun with the complete rules for ten MORE dice games like Bumble Bee, Sequences, Centennial, Best Ball and MORE. Great for the entire family.

    Quartile™

    Math Meets Dominos

Match wooden tiles so their numbers add up. In a classic wood box with dark cherry finish, Quartile is a beautiful addition to any game collection.

When you play a tile the dots must add up to the number in the center of the new tile being played. Match on more than one side to multiply your score!

    Simply Catan®

    Exclusively Created for SimplyFun

Welcome to the unsettled Island of Catan. Using combinations of resources - wood, brick, wheat, wool and ore - players build, barter and trade in this family strategy game. The faster you build roads, settlements and cities, the more points you earn towards victory. Clever trading, lively negotiation, and the luck of the dice add to everyone's fun and enjoyment. Once you start playing you won't want to stop.

Simply Catan is based on the international, award winning classic game Settlers of Catan, which has sold over 12 million copies worldwide. Designed for beginning players, Simply Catan takes less than 5 minutes to set up and 30 minutes to play.
