  1. Dont know

  2. There's this game we played at Tekkoshocon (that's an anime convention), where a big group of people sit around in a circle.  I think it's just called Werewolf, but the whole point of the game is that...

You hand out slips of paper to everybody sitting in the circle, secretly.  One person is the narrator who tells the story day by day, kind of repeats through the days.  Each person either gets "villager" or "werewolf" (usually only one or two of them depending on the size), and one person also gets "seer."  During the day everybody has to figure out who the werewolf is and lynch one villager.  If they guess wrong, oops, they kill a villager, and that person is out of the game.  If they guess right, hurray!, the livestock lives another day!

More details on this game can be found here: http://www.eblong.com/zarf/werewolf.html

  3. Here's a link to a bunch of circle games.

  4. you can play lots of games

    cards

taking turns on some board games

  5. PIG:  Can get up to 17 people in the game with one deck of regular cards.  Best played on a table.  Most kids love it.

Deal out 3 cards to everyone.  Object is to collect three of the same cards. Everyone passes one card (that they don't want) to the person to their left. Everyone picks up and checks their cards at the same time.  Do you have three of a kind?  If not pass again, if you do, without telling anyone, put your finger on your nose.  Last one to notice and putting finger on the nose is the....PIG!  You can then 'oink' at them, if you like.

It's more fun and distracting if after passing your card everyone thumps the table until everyone has passed and its time to check your cards.  Kids get caught up in the thumping and forget to check noses.  :)  If noise is an issue, have them tap with one finger only.

  6. Here's a game called "I've Never."  Have everyone sit in a circle with one person standing in the middle.  Have one less seat than people playing.  The person in the middle starts by saying something they have never done.  For example, "I've never been to Mexico."  Then anyone who has been to Mexico has to get up and find a new seat.  The person in the middle also tries to find a seat.  The last one standing is the new person in the middle.  Now that person says something they ahve never done.  What is said by the person in the middle has to be something that they have never done, it cannot be made up.  You might get a lot of funny and interesting information about people depending on how revealing they want to be and how honest everyone is in moving when they need to.  For example, at a recent family reunion I found out I had an uncle who has worn a dress before.  It is very fun and can be as long or as short as you want.  Have fun.

  7. The werewolf game (variant of the mafia game which was actually a popular game show in the Czech Republic) is the best option.  Look into getting Werewolves of Miller's Crossing.  The cards are of high quality and there are several different optional characters that can be thrown into the mix to make the game more interesting.

Gameplay: Each night all of the villagers go to sleep (put their heads down and lightly slap their legs--helps conceal any noise the werewolves might make), and then the werewolves wake up and choose a victim (point/vote).  The werewolves then go back to sleep and the moderator tells everyone to wake up.  The moderator then reveals who the next victim is.  You can do this more like a narration--e.g. "The next morning, you are surprised to see that Sarah did show up at church.  You are concerned and rush out to check on Sarah after the services.  Upon arriving at her house, you find the door open and signs of a struggle, but no Sarah.  The werewolf has struck again!."  You can make it more graphic, or less narrative depending on the group.  At this point everyone in the village (including the hidden werewolves) accuse one another of being the werewolf.  Once there is a majority vote for one of the villagers, that villager is "lynched" by the mob, at which point he or she steps out of the circle and reveals his or her card.  The game ends once all of the werewolves are dead or once there are as many werewolves as there are villagers.  For 8-11 players, you will have 2 werewolves; for 12-17 werewolves, you will have 3 werewolves; and for 18, you will have 4.

Werewolves of Miller's Crossing is good for this game because it introduces several optional characters (fortune teller, thief, hunter, cupido, witch, little girl, and sheriff), and all of the characters have different abilities that add a new twist to the game.  I would advise that you not include too many of these extra characters in a game (no more than 3), since the game tends to bog down once you have more than 3 of these characters.  (Personally, I believe that 2 special characters should be the max number for any game.)  The Werewolves of Miller's Crossing now has an additional deck that can add to the first game--I have not had a chance to try this addition though.  You can find both games (original and the addition) at funagaingames.com and probably at amazon.com--it should cost around 14 dollars, but it is worth it.

Hope you have a great time with Werewolves!

  8. cards are always nice but i like to play "guess the murderer". ok well theres a narator, murderer, and nurse. also thers the towns people. the narator says every body heads down. everyone puts there head down. the narator says 1 tap is nurse, 2 taps is killer. the narator goes around the circle while every1s head is down and does the tap. then he says murderer wake up. then only the person tapped twice ill put their head up. they will quietly point to someone and put their head down. then the narator says nurse wake up. she will wake up and choose 1 person to save, hoping it is the person the killer choose.the she willl her head dow again. the narator says everybody wake up. if the nurse's saved one wasnt the correct kid who was killed, the narator tells a story of how someone killed whoever was choosen. then the person who was choosen to die is out. and so on so on. enjoy!!!!!
