  2. Notebooks are typcially not for Gameplay unless you bought one considered to be a "Gaming" laptop.  From the specs I see, its' got the nVidia 7000M chipset with shared memory which is simply not adequate for those games, period.  If you want to play that stuff, you need a gaming desktop.

  3. The GeForce Go 7000 you seem to have is a crappy video chip that can't handle any modern games (but can deal with some older games), it's basically the AMD equivalent of Intel integrated graphics but less obvious.

You can't upgrade it either (the upgrade to XP would help somewhat but isn't enough).  You'll just have to make sure you only play games that will run on it.

  4. If you had kept vista you would've been about to use readyboost for extra RAM and set the power options to High Performance to force the CPU to always process at full power.  Also if you have 64 bit CPU try to get the 64 bit version of Vista, and try to play a 64 bit game.

Crysis utilizes 64 bit systems and it takes advantage of Multiple cores.  I have a 1.7GHz 64 bit Vista Dual Core Laptop.  With a little bypassing i was able to play Crysis with low graphic settings.  FYI Crysis has a minimum 2.2GHz dual core requirement.  To improve performance i put my laptop in the path of my AC's vent's air.  It works better than you think.

You can try XP 64 but Vista Utilizes Dual core and 64 better than XP.
