  1. m********e to the mile markers.

  2. definitely bring a deck of cards and a flat surface (like a big book) to lay them down on.

let's see, there's the classic "i spy" or 20 questions where you have to think of something and others have to guess what it is using yes or no questions.

pick a number, any number. then count the cars you pass in the opposite direction and the car number you land on is your future car.

oh be sure to make a playlist or CD of songs that you can all agree on so you won't be fighting over music the whole time, or just rotate turns to pick the song.

bring a pillow in the car and stay up late tonight - the more you sleep in the car, the shorter it will seem.

you could do the "a my name is..." thing and go through the alphabet.

make a bunch of cards with stuff that you might see along the way (billboards, license plates for specific states, cows...get creative) and divide them among everyone and whoever can find all their items first wins.

everyone has to find each letter of the alphabet, in order, somewhere OUTSIDE of the vehicle. when you see the letter you need you call it out and no one else can use it (like say you need letter P and you see a sign for pittsburgh, then you point out the sign and the others have to use a different sign to get their P).

if you have a laptop bring a couple DVD's to play.

then of course there's the paper games like tic tac toe, hangman, dots.

all the passengers get a piece of paper and something to write with. the driver describes a scene and specific aspects of it (such as with a beach: the people there, the fish in the water, etc) and everyone else has to draw the scene with their eyes closed.

    okay i think that's enough :]

  3. chopsticks; rock, paper, scissors, SLAP!; license plate tag; and (with paper) tic tac toe. (you could alwats sleep

  4. hide the sausage, thats really funny!! lol when i go to mexico i just listen to my ipod the whole way
