I live in the UK (England) and I was wondering by what percentage do you reckon the PlayStation 3 (£300 version / 40/80GB) will come down to in the "2009 January Sales".

Also could you please tell me what percentage you reckon the Xbox 360 will go down in the January Sales.

This is because I wanna buy one of either two consoles but dont know which one. Cheers, BTW, 10points for best answer and maybe helpful sources if possible. Thanks

  1. Due to the nature of consoles selling at a loss, most games stores will not be able to sell the consoles much cheaper, if at all. in fact the stores them selves might be makign only £10 profit on each console sold.

The money is in the games, they cost a few quid tops to make, so price cna be driven down quite a bit, you'll proably find you get better bundledeals in the slaes as the gmaes are chaper, so you might see Ps3, 5 games and extra controller, for the current price of ps3 plus 2 games and a BD disc.

I'd suggestign getting a console now, it means waiting nearly half a year to save a few quid, and the bundle deals will jsust be gettign rid of old games that didnt sell at xmas.

I'd wait till the new 80GB comes out at end of month, and then you can get all the great games that are out now - Motorstorm, MGS4, GT5, GTA etc, then by the time youve compelted them LBP, Fallout, Force unleashed, Far Cry, Resistnace 2 etc will be coming out.

I got my 40gb at beging of summer hols, and not long after the 80gb upgrade was announced, it was a bit of a sting, but im glad ive been able to paly all the great games available now, rather than sat around waiting to see if it will get a sale price at E3, or in  Xmas sales, or january slaes, or easter slaes, or summer sales, or xmas slales 09, january sales 10 etc etc.
