  1. and your question is?

  2. >>Gamo Pro Magnum domed(7.8gr) pellets good for a high power(1200fps) air rifle<<

No, not generally. Pellets that approach and or exceed the speed of sound tend to become unstable and inaccurate.

"IF" you really do have a very powerful air rifle capable of shooting average weight lead pellets at 1200fps you would usually be better off using much heavier pellets.

IMO, around 900fps gives you both, good accuracy and a good trajectory.

My guess is you're looking at the Gamo Big Cat. Which "claims" >up to< 1200fps with Gamo PBA Raptors(5.4gr) and >up to< 1000fps with lead pellets(no weight or pellet given)

You will not get 1200fps nor will you get 1000fps with avg weight lead pellets. All airgun manufacturers like to stretch their "claims" to some degree. Gamo tends to stretch their's to the absurd.

Airguns are very particular about the pellets they prefer(accuracy) even if you and I had the same make & model, chances are they will prefer a different pellet.

The best way to go about finding the right pellet for your rifle is to choose a few quality pellets

Good quality pellets for a reasonable price.

    RWS

    Beeman

    Crosman Premier

    JSB

    H&N

I would start with the Crosman Premier Domed Lights, that were already suggested and RWS Superdomes(8.3gr).

I do know of airgunners who have had good luck with the Gamo Pro Magnum so it's not a bad one to try. If you want to add a heavier pellet to the mix, try the Beeman Crow-Magnum or Beeman Silver Sting.

If you really do have a 1200fps .177 you might try the Beeman Silver Arrow(11.5gr)

  3. 7.9gr crosman premier domes are better in quality and around the same price.
