Ganesh idol bringing and worship during Sutak period?

Paternal grandfather of my friend expired today morning. The 10th day comes on Ganesh Chaturthi. Every year my friend brings Ganesh idol on this day-what should he do this time, should he cancel the idol booking? If a child would have been born on this day to him or his brother, then also should he cancel the idol booking?

yes, it shld be cancel. till sutak period is over there should be no puja at home. better check with pundit.
