Gang problems in the U.S. ?

Are Gangs a major problem in the U.S.? I remember hearing a lot about them in past years, but not much at all any more. What problems are they causing, and what ways are they combated?

drug trading, violence, and stealing. There is a show on the history channel called "gangland" It is fun to watch but it is really scary. The streets are alot worse then u think

the crime issue usually goes on to the back burner in an election year.They are going to discuss world wide issues more then.

i think gangs has dwindled down but in major cities like la...nyc...chicago..they are still live and awake....honestly i dont think they are being combated heavily...but they do have gang programs in jails and prisons...but its kinda too late then

They are only a threat to each other, they usually stay clean of outsiders with non-colors.....want to know the real problem? look at this youtube video it will scare you knowing your government is really doing this to us all!!

they are a huge problem but for the most part in the big citites so if u are not in a big city probably not so much but yes they are a problem'

they are a problem in the communites they are in.  theft vandalisim gang members often come from broken families

Yes, they are. They are the ones who kill and laugh at the dead. They are so stupid. Wearing some silly  pants and  ugly shirt, and the bandanas!

I think they are still a very real issue. They arent stabbing people in daylight anymore but in my area (colorado springs) they are really involved in criminal activities like drug trafficing and such.

yes they still cause probleems and always will. our country does not like to talk about it because it gives us a bad reputation.
