Ganguly, Manjrekar back Tendulkar to bounce back – Cricket News Update
Former Indian skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SR-Tendulkar-c2556 to bounce back quickly from his recent poor run of form.
Tendulkar came under fire after failing to cope with full-length deliveries during the recently concluded two-match Test series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754, at home, which India won 2-0. The Master Blaster could manage to score 19, 17 and 27 runs in his three innings
in the series.
But Ganguly, the ex teammate of Tendulkar, said that writing the batting legend off only after a couple of poor innings is not fair.
“People have started saying that it is time for him to go after the three innings in which he did not live up to the high standards he's set for himself,” the former Indian top-order batsman wrote in his column for Hindustan Times, on Friday.
“This is not the right assessment. Sachin should not be judged on the basis of three innings but over a period of eight to 10 Test matches,” he added further.
Ganguly, the 40-year-old http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013
series and silence his critics.
Another former Indian cricketer, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820 star is still good enough to play big innings at the highest level.
Tendulkar made his international debut back in November 1989 and has to date played 190 Tests and 463 One Day Internationals for his country. He holds almost every possible batting record in contemporary cricket and still shows the same teenage enthusiasm
whenever he goes out to bat.
At 39, Tendulkar is no doubt on the wrong side of the age, and his recent vulnerability against full-length deliveries has prompted his critics to announce his end as a quality batsman. But Manjrekar said that the Little Maestro still adds value to the Indian
batting line-up and was confident he will soon sort out this batting problem.
"Tendulkar is not the first great ageing player who is finding the full ball a bit of a handful,” Manjrekar wrote in his column for
Cricinfo. “This is a game he knows inside out, and he will surely find a way back from this little setback," he added further.
