Ganguly prefers Ojha’s left-arm spin over struggling Ashwin - Cricket News Update

Former Indian captain, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 in the four-match Test series down under.
Whilst other former Indian cricketers and pundits want changes in the batting line-up of the tourists, Ganguly wants to see left-arm spinner http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 takes the field against Australia
in the third Test at WACA, Perth on Friday.
Ashwin, the 25-year-old right-arm off-spinner from Chennai, has been struggling on the bouncy Australian tracks right from the start of the ongoing four-match Test series against Kangaroos, which his side is presently trailing 2-0. In three innings, Ashwin
has claimed just four wickets conceding 298 runs.
Ganguly reckons Ojha’s left-arm spin could make a difference for India in the conditions down under.
"I think the left-arm spinner could come in and do well,” said Ganguly while speaking to the media reporters on Sunday. “He (Ojha) is a good bowler and he's ready, and Ashwin obviously hasn't bowled well," the former Indian skipper added further.
Pragyan Ojha, the 25-year-old left-arm orthodox bowler from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Orissa-c828 has been exceptional in Test cricket so far, acquiring 62 Test wickets in his name from 14 appearances. The only thing that could go against the Orissa spinner is that he has never played
overseas, but Ganguly has faith in his left-arm spin and wants Indian selectors to give him a chance at Perth.
Earlier, legendary http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Wasim-Akram-c96292 had also expressed disappointment over Ashwin’s performance on Australian pitches and had asked the BCCI selectors to consider including experienced off-spinner
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Harbhajan-Singh-c61453 in the side.
Meanwhile, Ganguly expressed confidence in rookie India pacer http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Umesh-Yadav-c94625, who played very well in the opening Test at Melbourne but struggled at the Sydney Cricket Ground where India could claim only four wickets and went on to lose the game by an innings
and 68 runs.
"I thought Umesh Yadav bowled very well in Melbourne so you can't leave him out after one bad Test match, and he had bowled very well previous to that,” Ganguly was quoted as saying by an Australian newspaper.
