I think they are just recalling him as they have realised they have no choice. Dhoni, for all his talk, could not deliver. To top it the "young man" is complaining of fatigue. I did not know a Captain/ leader could just opt out and leave his team to rest.

Wonder what people would say if it was Ganguly asking for rest. That he is 36 and should be "rested" for good! l0l. Life!!!

Hey the good news for us Sourav dada fans is that Ganguly has already been chosen in the 16 member squad of India for the forthcoming test series against Sri Lanka. Rahul Dravid has also been picked, while MS Dhoni himself opted out of the 3 test series, because he felt that he needed a break from continuous cricket. Anyway, I am glad that  the "men in charge" decided to rely on experience over youth atleast for tests. But I have a serious doubt as to whether Ganguly will ever be able to return back to the ODI team or not. Still, I believe that India  needs the experience of dada as well as Dravid. We all did see how India went down in the Asia Cup final. The youngsters couldn't handle the pressure, and collapsed when it mattered the most. Besides, all the youngsters except Raina such as Yousuf Pathan, Rohit Sharma, Uthappa didn't live upto the expectations. So, I don't really see why Sourav inspite of performing better than most of them throughout 2007, and proving himself in the IPL isn't considered worthy of being in the ODI team. The selection process is really irrational! Infact, it's almost hilarious when it's said that "selection is made on the basis of performance", and in practice, the underachievers are chosen instead of the true performers.

Anyway, A Very Happy Birthday to my inspiration-Sourav Dada. Many happy returns of the day, and I wish him success in the coming year, beginning with the test series at Sri Lanka. Of course, I've already wished him today, as a fan:
