Gao Huan dominates Qiao Bin in second round of 2012 Macau Open Badminton Grand Prix Gold
Men’s Singles expert Gao Huan of China remained invincible in the second round of Kumpoo Macau Open Badminton Grand Prix Gold and reserved his spot in the pre quarter-finals on November 28, 2012.
The Chinese campaigner outshined his compatriot shuttler Qiao Bin by registering a favourable result of 21-16 and 21-18 in a hard fought tussle.
This encounter was staged at the local badminton arena of Macau and a decent number of spectators gathered to encourage both contenders.
Though, this match ended in just two games but still both shuttlers entertained the crowd with a mesmerising show of skills.
However, Gao Huan displayed unbeatable craft on the court and sealed a splendid straight-set victory.
He established a strong grip over the game and maintained the upper hand until last shot was played.
In the opening game, Gao Huan did not give his rival enough time to get settled and confounded him with a brisk attack. He prevailed in the establishing rallies and established an unassailable lead with 7-3 total.
The spirited Chinese shuttler played with great precision and did not make even a single mistake before half time.
At the mid-game break, Gao Huan was in commanding position with a respectable figure of 11 and this psychological edge helped him in the ending stages part of the game.
The opposing shuttler Qiao Bin showed some spark in third quarter of the set and bagged many valuable points in a row but his supremacy was really short lived.
Gao Huan reinstated his dominance when it mattered and placed an overwhelming margin of 21-16.
However, it was not a smooth road to victory in second set of the match as Qiao Bin put a commendable effort and challenged his competitor in all areas of the game.
In first half of the set, he did not show any sign of confusion and stayed close on the points table until the interval.
After the one-minute break, he made some mistakes which ultimately led him to a woeful exit from this GP Gold event.
Gao Huan made the best out of his challenger’s blunders and stole the limelight by putting 21-18 score on the board.
