Question:

Gap returning after 5 years of braces.....

I had braces for almost 5 years. I wore my retainer every night. But once in awhile, I still get a small gap returning in between my two front top teeth. I end up having to wear my retainer again (I got my braces off when I was 13...and I'm 19 now.) and it's annoying. I was thinking of getting veneers (?) on the two front teeth to get rid of the gap permanently.

Can anyone tell me if that's a good solution? If not, anyone have any other ideas?

Thanks.

  1. I had a grenectomy... they cut the tendon between the two front teeth. Yeah I know kinda creepy but it did the trick. 30 years later... no gap.

My mother (gaps are genetic, did you know that?) had a dentist who glued a veneer on the BACK of the two front teeth and it holds them together.

Talked to your orthodontist? He might have a solution for you.

I'd say fix it, though; heck you went through all that... why let it get ruined?

  2. You need to see an orthodontist to see why they are not stabilizing.  That is a real problem that needs to be solved before you spend any more money on your teeth.
