  1. i think yourself. trust me you prob think you will know nothing about australia but once you get there and after a couple of weeks you learn about the country, culture, what to do, were to go, just by meeting other backpacker and talking.

also maybe buy/hire a lonely planet on Australia these are like bibles at times but sometimes your own opinions are the best.

just organise your main international flights and maybe a couple night in the citys cbd hostel and then go with the flow.

you can organise your work visa via the net, you can buy a simm card for oz  when you get there at vodafone shops that are over the highstreets in any city in aus,

you can organise your own bank account in aus, just do it 6weeks within landing in aus all your need is id, passport and an address (you normally can use the hostel address that your staying at)

organise your own accomadation via the net and meet people in the hostel dorms or common room.

im not sure what oz intro offer but usually a package like that and you get ripped off

  2. Don't have any experience with Ozintro. I had a gap year in Oz about 10 years ago and organised it myself. Had a laugh. All I did was book a single flight out to Melbourne and made sure I had booked a youth hostel for the few days. After that, I just sorted out accomodation and transport as I went along.

  3. Organise it yourself.

For Brits, a Working Holiday visa is easy to get: just go to http://www.immi.gov.au/visitors/working-... and apply online.

Shop around online, book your flight and book hostel accomodation for the first few nights after you arrive. After that, just go with the flow. You'll meet heaps of other young WH makers at the hostel and you don't want to be tied down with any previously made arrangements. Part of the gap year experience is meeting new people and heading off in unexpected directions and hostels are a mine of information about where to go and what to do.

Hang on to the money you would have spent on Ozintro or some similar crowd and use it for an internal flight or something during your stay.

Come on over and have a great time.
