  1. The main timesaver is to avoid the need for individual price stickers on everything except  larger, more expensive items.

One fast way to organize is to put all small similar items in big open top boxes with the price for anything in there put on the outside of that box with a color coded sticker. Then just put that color of small colored dot sticker on each item in there.

In other words, all items with a small pink dot sticker would be $1.00  & all items with a yellow sticker would be $2.00 etc. It is a lot easier than individually pricing each item. You can also increase sales by having a sign on each box that says $1.00 each or 3 for $2.50 etc.. You'd be surprised how people will buy more just to save that little bit extra!!

If you have clothes, then have signs that say, "All Tops--$5" or "All Jeans--$5" or "All Shoes--$5". You won't even need colored stickers for those things--a big timesaver for you.

The biggest mistake I see people make is putting up signs for their sale that have pale tiny writing. It should be thick bold black lettering (like 1/2" thick and 4" tall) so people can read "GARAGE SALE" and your address easily from the street as they're driving by. Place the signs at nearby major intersections and then put one in front of your house with a couple of balloons to draw attention to it.

Be sure you go to the bank and gets lots of $1 bills and coins to make change. It is a good idea to have a f***y pack for money or a friend that will watch a cash box for you while you are talking to customers.

Don't forget to smile and good luck!! : )

  2. !st of all get off the computer and get to work! :)  use colored stickers and dont mark prices just make on big card that all Yellow stickers are $2 and all blue stickers are $5 ect.   Also for clothes you can sell the cheap ones by the bag full like $5 a bag or something. have a neighbor kid help you clean the garage and pay them a little and let them sell koolaid at your sale

  3. Just hop to it!....and stay off the computer!

I have done many over the years, don't make yourself crazy pricing...just spread groups of similarly priced items together, at one price!

  4. You probably shouldn't have left it until today. Your procrastination as evidenced by this is probably why you need to have a yard sale in the first place.

That being said, invite a few friends over to help you. Sort of have an impromptu "garage sale prep party". You might have more luck if you paid for the pizzas.
