Garbah to take over Cinderkamp in the Attijari Points Rewards Program at Meydan on 3rd March
The Attijari Points Rewards Program (Handicap) (Tapeta) is to be raced at Meydan over six furlongs on Saturday, 3rd March. The race has attracted a lineup of fourteen runners who will thunder through the track for the £9, 677 purse.
Garbah, Kodiac’s four-year-old bay filly out of mare Baraloti, has sustained her performance through the three races that she took part in the 2012 season. The four-year-old filly has won twice and has ended third once.
Garbah won the Rajai (Maiden) (Turf) on 1st January at Abu Dhabi over seven furlongs. She rode with Royston Ffrench and led the track of fourteen by 5 ¼ lengths. Following the closest behind was Energia Eroi with James Doyle onboard while finishing
the race third behind the winner was Shafgaan.
The race had four entries from Al Raihe and an equal number from trainer S. Seemar. Two under training Al Raihe captured the first and third finishing places.
Her second start of the season was in the Al Taweelah (Handicap) (Turf) on 22nd January at Abu Dhabi over six furlongs. Finishing the race first by a shoulder’s margin from Fityaan was Doug Watson trained Cinderkamp with Pat Dobbs onboard.
Fityaan was riding with Tadhg O’Shea with Garbah closing in on the 2 ½ lengths while riding under Royston Ffrench.
Doug Watson’s other entry, Musaalem ended fourth while Pirate’s Song representing Al Raihe could manage only the fifth position.
Garbah’s third venture during the season was in the S O G Reservoir (Handicap) (Tapeta) on 17th February at Meydan over six furlongs. She dominated the track of fourteen by 1 ½ lengths. Dan Chillingworth with Kieren Fallon onboard, qualified as
the runner up and had the stable mate, Musaalem, following right on the heels and consequently ending third.
Two more entries of Al Raihe finished seventh and twelfth on the field of fourteen racing.
Today the four-year-old bay filly will contest her fourth start of the season and is expected to strike her third victory too. She will encounter Cinderkamp today again but this time how will the finishing positions turn out to be will surface soon. Both
Doug Watson and Al Raihe are accomplished and successful trainers thus it will be a tough one.
