The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-Lyonnais-c40130 coach is pleased with the way his players performed against Bordeaux in the Ligue to register yet another win to close the gap on leaders, Paris Saint-Germain
Putting their European disappointment behind, Les Gones managed to register all three points in the domestic league and closed the gap on the Ligue 1 leaders in the process. The attitude of the players has pleased the boss to great
extent who feels that his side is in good position to achieve their targets this season.
While talking to reporters, the 46-year-old tactician stated that it was a tough game and Lyon were lucky to earn maximum points. The boss said that his side didn’t play to his potential but despite that, they managed to take control
of the game and that is a very good sign. OL scored before the interval despite created very few chances and Garde feels that his side was lucky to get in front before the half time.
"I'll be a killjoy on this one but I have to admit that we were extremely lucky," Garde said. "We managed to be in the lead at the break without being really dangerous.”
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 player said that Lyon played with a game plan and they were rewarded for that. They did not create a lot of opportunities but they converted their chances well.
"That was our game plan today. We grabbed every opportunity we had.”
The boss added that Lyon have been really unlucky lately and they needed this kind of win to get things going.
"We have been very unlucky lately and today it fell a bit more in our favour.”
Scoring four goals in a single game is never an easy task and the fact the Lyon did that against a team like Bordeaux, makes it a very important win for the Championelle hopefuls.
"But we deserve the win with four goals being a little bit flattering in the end." I don't think there is an obvious relationship between the moment the game turned in our favour and the introduction of our young players," he said.
