The Frenchman was content following the victory against the defending champions, and believes it was a hard-fought victory for les Gones.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-Lyonnais-c40130 manager, Remi Garde, was truly satisfied when his side secured all three points at the Stade de Gerland against Montpellier Herault. The Frenchman is happy with the hard-fought victory against the reigning champions and hopes that the
team will be able to maintain their current form in future games.
Les Gones were termed as favourites before the game, and they proved to be worthy of being so. The Lyon-based club managed to scrap a win in a tightly contested victory, one that ensured Garde’s men the top spot at the table. The manager expressed his delight
and while talking to the press, he said:
“I am very satisfied with the result. It was a complicated game and a hard-fought victory.”
However, the manager believes that it wasn’t all easy for them to win against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Montpellier-HSC-c39945. The tactician praised his players and also credited luck for their victory at the Stade de Gerland.
During the game, Garde saw his team dominating in the first half, but witnessed an entirely different side in the second half, one that was determined to find their way back in the game. The coach said:
“We did control the first half. But in the second half Montpellier started to play more offensively and were more aggressive.”
The Frenchman also admitted that he was a bit afraid during the second half, as the visitors seemed more of an attacking side, and their long-range shots were proving to be a source of serious threat. The 46-year-old described:
“I was a bit scared towards the end because as I said before, Montpellier were a different team in the second half.”
The manager chose the same team that had featured in their victory against Olympique Marseille, and it proved to be the right decision for the former Lyon player. Les Gones managed to win all three points, and according to Garde, that’s all that matters.
He explained:
“But at the end we were able to keep our one goal lead and earn ourselves a valuable victory.”
Bafetimbi Gomis’ goal proved to be the difference between the two sides. The Frenchman scored his 10th league goal this season, maintaining his reputation as a proven goal scorer.
