the squad. The talented winger added that Spurs had shown great progress this season and if they keep going like this, a bright future awaits them.
“There's no reason why we can't finish above them. We have a great squad, great players who are still young and we are playing great football. If we keep progressing like we have done this year, maybe get a few more players in the squad, then there is no
reason why not,” the midfielder was quoted as saying in an interview.
The Welsh International claimed that the results against the lower teams had cost them the UEFA Champions League place this year. He added that Tottenham had some very good results against the bigger clubs but poor performances against the lower ranked teams
had cost them big time.
“I think we can achieve something big. We can win the league inside a few years, definitely. If we are more consistent against the lower teams in the league then there's every chance of doing what we want to do,” he concluded.
Gareth Bale had a breakthrough season this term and his performances in the Champions League were lauded. The winger scored 11 goals in 41 games and played a huge role in making the club’s maiden European campaign a success.
