Gareth Bale out of Real Madrid clash
The 21-year-old Tottenham star Gareth Bale is hoping to be fit for the Champions League clash against Real Madrid, after picking up a hamstring injury while on international duty. The youngster has undoubtedly been the reason why the Spurs have made it this
far in the European competition.
His injury is expected to keep him out until 10 days but the Spurs are hopeful the Welsh winger will make a recovery ahead of schedule to face Madrid in Europe. He will undergo a series of tests which will determine whether or not he will be fit to face
the La Liga giants.
An official statement by the club read, “Gareth has returned to Spurs Lodge and took part in controlled straight-line running so we could assess him. We sent him for an ultrasound scan examination this afternoon and that has confirmed the presence of a minor
grade one hamstring strain.”
According to the club Bale has not been complaining of pain or discomfort, which indicates he is not having trouble with his recovery. He is undergoing a conditioning program which will be monitored over the weekend and it will determine his involvement
in midweek.

William Gallas signs contract extension
Tottenham Hotspur defender William Gallas recently signed a two year contract extension with the London club, which will keep him at the club until the end of the 2013 season. The 33-year-old former French international joined the Spurs last season on a
short term contract and has made 28 appearances since then.
Gallas has previously played for Spurs London rivals http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 and Arsenal, respectively. He left both clubs in controversial circumstances and is known to be somewhat of a trouble maker. However, he looks to have settled down well at White Hart Lane.
Gallas has been solid in defence for Tottenham which is why Harry Redknapp has agreed to give him a contract extension. He has been consistent this season and has made regular appearances in both the English Premier League and the Champions League. A statement
released by the club confirmed the new deal.
