Bale’s new contract with Tottenham Hotspur means he will now remain at White Hart Lane until 2016, successfully putting an end to the rumours linking him a move away. The 22-year-old revealed he wanted to be a part of the Spurs side that was slowly emerging
as a force to be reckoned with in English football.
Bale said in an interview:
“The club is progressing and I want to be a part of that, so it was great to get the deal done.”
La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid are both reportedly interested in bringing the Welshman to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011, but it seems they will now have to wait a few years. Tottenham Hotspur have failed to qualify for the Champions League, but that has had no bearing
on Bale’s decision to remain at the club.
The Spurs, under manager Harry Redknapp, finished fourth on the Premier League table in the 2011-2012 season, but since http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 won the Champions League and took up their spot in the European competition, they will not be participating in the most coveted
competition upcoming season.
He revealed:
“I've been here for five years now and I've enjoyed every minute. The fans have been great to me and I'd love to re-pay them and do the very best for them.
The club is progressing and I want to be a part of that, so it was great to get the deal done.”
Bale has now been at White Hart Lane for five years and revealed he had enjoyed himself immensely, which is why he was not currently looking for a move away. He was grateful to the fans for their support throughout the years and said they were a big reason
why he had stayed.
Bale continued:
“I love the club and the fans and I want to play my part in trying to get us back into the Champions League - where we belong. We have a good, young squad and we need to work together to get back on the biggest stage.”
