Gareth Bale struggling with attention
Tottenham Hotspur winger Gareth Bale has revealed he is struggling to cope with the extra attention that opposition sides now give him.
Bale is now targeted as one of Tottenham's best players after sparkling performances in the Champions League against Inter Milan. Tactics such as strict man marking and doubling up are now deployed to
stop Bale in Premier League games.
"It has been difficult for me recently when teams have had two players marking me.
In a way I've got to try to find another way to get past them. I did that against Blackburn [during the Premier League win last weekend] and I was delighted," Bale said in national newspaper
The Sun.
Despite Bale's success in the Champions League, he still has a lot to prove against the best teams in the Premier League. A lot is now expected of him and he will be one
of Spurs' most important players for the North London derby against Arsenal this weekend.
"It will be a massive test obviously away at Arsenal but we'll be ready for
it. We need to win every game we play at the moment," he added.
What is important for Bale at this stage in his career, as he's still only 21 years old, is to find some consistency because the number of games he has to play in will
quickly pile up as there is no winter break in England.
"It was important to get ourselves kick-started again. The Champions
League is coming around next week, so we want to build on that," he said.
Bale is a very young man and he is surrounded by experience at Tottenham with the squad and in manager Harry Redknapp. He will face further challenges in the near future
that he will have to overcome if he's going to become a complete player.
Betting advice
There is no substitute for confidence and form and Bale has both right now. Back him to score in any match Tottenham has over the next one or two weeks. Utilise his form
because sooner or later a team will find a more effective way of keeping him quiet that others will copy.
