Manchester City midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gareth-Barry-c14423 could go on and miss the upcoming Euro 2012, after the midfielder picked up an injury in a friendly.
Barry was brought on in the second half, to replace the national team captain, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Steven-Gerrard-c34196. However, the Manchester City player didn’t even last more than thirty minutes, since he had to be taken off due to an injury.
As a result, it is now a doubt whether the player will end up being fit in time for the Euros or not.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 have more bad news lined up for them, as Scott Parker was also injured in the game and had to come off in the match, due to an Achilles problem that he has been suffering from.
Due to the injuries to these two players, it seems like the Three Lions midfield might see some massive setbacks in the upcoming competition and it might be down to Roy Hodgson to try and find a solution to these new problems.
When talking about the injuries to his key players and just how Barry’s absence might cause problems to him and the team, the new England boss is reported to have said:  “Well I think Scott [Parker]’s been okay, we wanted to give him a bit longer than 45
minutes to test him out to see if he was going to get a reaction. At the moment there’s no reaction, we’ll find out maybe tomorrow.”
“Gareth Barry worries me more, because he did feel his groin so we’ll have to get that scanned.”
He then admitted that the team didn’t have many opportunities at hand, while time was also running short for them, in order to try and find the best possible solution.
“We don’t have a lot of opportunities [and] we don’t have much time left and if it was a serious groin injury I dare say that could be something for me seriously to think about.”
Hodgson now needs to make some quick decisions about what he needs to do about this situation with his midfield, or he could potentially go on and lead England to another unsuccessful cup competition.
