A number of young players were given full senior debuts in the recent wins as Fabio Capello’s starting line-ups were a blend of youth and experience.
Manchester United’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jack-Rodwell-c17462 all made debuts for the Three Lions and won plaudits for their inspired and mature performances.
Barry has hailed the impact of youngsters on England’s senior squad, however, he singled out the United starlet for putting up a decent display on international stage.
Jones earned his first international cap for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385 this summer, was one of the only three players to start both the friendly
matches.
Despite being a natural defender, Jones was fielded in a defensive midfield role, and Barry was very impressed with 19-year-old’s contribution.
The Manchester City midfielder said in an interview:
"Probably you've got to look at Phil Jones, playing out of position, he looked as if he has played there all his career, it is not his natural game.”
Barry has hailed the depth and strength of the English squad and has insisted that added competition will motivate the players to give their best in order to retain their place in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fabio-c13152 Capello’s squad.
The 30-year-old explained, "The players coming through are there now. There are more options. The manager has got to be very pleased with the way these two games have gone and the way the players have adapted.”
Barry was also delighted to see young players stepping up and making their mark on international level. The City midfielder believes England are in good form and they should work hard in order to continue their impressive run.
“The younger players have come in and shown great confidence. The confidence is there. The momentum is there. But we've got to keep it going because there are tougher tests ahead,” Gareth Barry concluded.
