Gareth Barry insists players are behind Roberto Mancini
Manchester City midfielder Gareth Barry insists that the whole squad is behind Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini.
Captain Carlos Tevez has had a much publicised row with the manager over the tactics he employed against Newcastle United in the Premier League earlier this season.
On loan striker Craig Bellamy has also fallen out with the manager after he clashed with Mancini over the amount of time he was getting to play.
Former midfielder Stephen Ireland is another to indicate that the players were not happy with the Italian manager after he moved to Aston Villa.
However, Barry defended Mancini and stated that the players were completely behind the manager.
“The truth is that there is a group of players working together, working hard and working for the boss," said Barry.
The England midfielder has also had an incident that forced him to apologise to the Italian manager.
Barry, Joe Hart and Adam Johnson were found to be drinking at a party on their day off and the three players were forced to apologise to Mancini.
“I regret that, it was naive of me. It shouldn't have happened. I have apologised to the manager; we were in the wrong but that is in the past now and we are only looking forward,” said Barry.
The central midfielder stated that the Manchester City players have and will continue to do their best for the club and manager Mancini.
"Everyone in that dressing room and that training complex wants to do their best for Manchester City,” said the England international.
Barry’s comments come after constant rumours have emerged that players are unhappy with Mancini’s tactics and training as well as a number of players voicing their discontent at not playing often enough.
Mancini is under immense pressure this season as he aims to win some silverware with a squad of star players.
