Gareth Barry to Arsenal, Will that be the final signing of the summer ?

Arsene says he will make more signing, I don't know who that will be. He always surprises me, and he refuses to rule out the Gareth Barry bid.

What a signing that would be, Fabregas and Barry.

he will probably sign one of those players but im pretty sure it wont be barry. he will never pay anywhere near that money for him. and in my opinion, barry isnt worth anywhere near that much, except for being english. he just isnt a very good player. inler is the only one worth the money touted as he is talented and a holding midfielder which is what arsenal needs. personally i wouldnt mind seeing alonso signed as he is the most talented of the three but he isnt the type of player we need, plus wenger wont pay that much for him either

Gareth Barry? I really don't see why he should cost so much. His performance was somewhat good but not outstanding. Anyways, I believe Manchester United's Sylvian Wiltord's move is going to be the only transfer for the summer. Wenger may experiment and monitor the progress of his shortlisted players till come January.

Wenger will not spend such money for Barry.Liverpool make a big splash to sign Barry,but they failed.Arshavin is probably be the man.They seen desperated to sign a sharp shooter or an intellectual midfielder.

After the signing of Silvestre, which really really surprised me, i have no idea what our boss is planning to do next, he always keeps his intentions very close to his chest, so it could be one of a number of players before the deadline (1st September midnight now).

I think Gareth Barry would be the better choice, but who knows!!!

Besides Barry is not a holding midfielder. To get the best out of Fabreagas they need to directly replace Flamini. I think Arsenal were mad to sell Lassana Diara because he will run all day, put his foot in, and can pass the ball.

Also I really rate Song-He is a great footballer who is not a centre back! Wenger played him there last season but he would be a great foil for Fabregas in the middle of the park.

Despite this you definiteity need another central midfielder, I think Stephan Appiah would be a great addition for them. He has left Fenabace, has great expierence and is a leader aswell as being all the things I said about Diarra.

We just bought Mikael Silvestre from Manchester United on a two-year deal. I think Wenger is going to purchase either Gokhan Inler from Udinese or another unknown centre-defensive midfielder. If we do get one of them, we would definitely be ready to challenge for the title.

However, I don't think Wenger is going to buy Barry because he has already started to play for Aston Villa. The rumours about him going to Liverpool is dragging on and most importantly, I doubt Wenger is going to be willing to splash 18 million pounds on Barry. Although he is said to be interested in the Villan.

The same can be said with Alonso, another great player, who can inject some intelligent play into a lot of teams. He would definitely aid our players to learn a few things here and there in the Champions League, having won it with the Reds. But again, I don't think Wenger is going to pay that amount for a player.
