  1. According to Garmin's website, City Navigator covers Hawaii, and that is the map package that comes installed on the nuvi.  If you use your 350 on the mainland then go to Hawaii, it may take a little longer for the GPS receiver to get a position fix because of the distance the receiver has been moved from the last location it had a position fix.

  2. I have a Nuvi 350 and it works fine in Hawaii.  Works well on all the islands out here.  Only becareful using it during rush hours in Oahu because the road systems change dramatically in the city (by use of cones), so many two way roads become one, normal left and right turns are forbidden, and no gps will understand any of this madness.   You need it regardless here if you don't know the area and are going to rent a car.

  3. The Nuvi 350 comes pre-loaded with map information of all 50 United States (including Alaska and Hawaii), Canada, and Puerto Rico.

In fact, all Garmin Nuvis come with Hawaii maps -- it's just some of the 200-series models that don't include Alaska or Canada.

But any Nuvi will be fine for Hawaii!
