Garrett Weber-Gale conquers Men’s 100m freestyle crown – 2011 USA Swimming Long Course Nationals
Day four of the 2011 USA Swimming Long Course Nationals got-off to a scintillating start with the impressive splash of TXLAST’s swimmer, Garrett Weber-Gale in Paloalto, California, on Friday, August 5.
The session of the meet conducted the Men’s 100m freestyle final, in which Weber-Gale dominated the entire splash and grabbed the golden crown with a victorious time of 48.87 seconds.
Garrett Weber-Gale’s team-mate, James Feigen, secured the silver medal in the corresponding category with a winning time of 48.99 seconds, while Scott Robison of NSSNC earned the bronze title in a time of 49.06 seconds.
In the meantime, Matthew Grevers of FORDAZ posted a time of 49.22 seconds to settle fourth on the podium, whereas, Robert Savulich of CWMI finished fifth in a time of 49.39 seconds. Nicholas Brunelli of MACNC submitted a time of 49.40 seconds to secure the
sixth position.
Meanwhile, CALPC’s William Copeland was placed seventh in 49.66 seconds and Davis Tarwater of MACNC and Richard Berens of UN07CA settled in a tie for eighth place on the podium, with a time of 49.70 seconds. Finally, Daxon Hill of TXLAST earned tenth place
honours in a time of 50.57 seconds.
On the other hand, Thomas Shields of CALPC topped the Men’s 100m freestyle B final with a triumphant time of 49.77 seconds, while Tyler Reed of WAKY finished second on the podium in 49.88 seconds. David Walters of UN11CA settled third in a time of 49.99
seconds. Alexander Coville of STANPC was placed fourth in 50.11 seconds, while Kohlton Norys of AUBSE rounded out the top five of the splash in a time of 50.13 seconds.
Moreover, Aaron Wayne of STANPC hit the wall in 50.50 seconds to claim the Men’s 100m freestyle C final, whereas, Paul Gordon of IOWAIA settled second in a time of 50.54 seconds. Andrew Grant of UN02PC finished third on the podium by submitting a time of
50.61 seconds, while Jakob Allen wound up fourth in a time of 50.84 seconds. Zachary Holmes of OSUOH was placed fifth in 50.91 seconds.
